Polaris at Ebert Elementary School Reviews

Polaris does a super job at providing caring, individualized educational experiences for the children who go there.

I love the arts integrated curriculum and the best staff ever!

While our son is a bright kid, he also has some very different learning styles and requires some extra time and energy. Dealing with not only classroom teachers but PE, dance, drama, library, and other staff, we have never felt that our child was a bother or a problem for anyone. They have all given an ear and taken the time to understand his difference! Our son was very depressed at his former school; here he is celebrated, nurtured, and is reaching his potential. He cannot stand to miss a day for the dentist, snow, or a trip out of town. That is truly the greatest gift. Any school can be good when the going is good; we feel we have a challenging situation and we have been heard and helped along the way. This place is the greatest!

This is my second message. My daughters attended this school until last year. My younger daugher (I have two) would have been a fifth grader at Polaris this year. We moved to Golden two years ago and this year I decided to put my girls in schools closer to home because it was getting too expensive to drive back and forth each day. I'm very sorry that I did that. My fifth grader, Willow, is learning nothing new at her new school and complains daily about how much she misses everything about Polaris. Parents, if your children are lucky enough to get to attend Polaris at Ebert, I highly suggest you keep them there til they are done with fifth grade. It is a Wonderful program.

This is arguably the best elementary school in DPS. While the visionary Dr. Howard has moved on to other endeavors, she has left the school under the able stewardship of Karin Johnson, a former colleague and teacher at Polaris. She and the rest of the faculty and staff are among the best I've ever worked with in my professional career. Parental involvement at the school during my tenure was excellent (and I believe remains so today), but I never found parents to be overbearing, as they can be at some high-achieving schools. Students are respectful and tolerant, and the staff always worked to inculcate these attributes in the children. I was always inspired by the children's desire to learn. My only complaint is that there isn't room to expand the school so that other children could benefit from this program.

I have had a child at this school for 8 years (2 kids). This is a wonderful school, creative, nurturing, rigorous academically. The Principal is amazing, and very responsive to aprental concerns. You will be very lucky if your child gets in.

An amazing school for high-achieving and highly-gifted students in Northeast Denver. Major emphasis on the arts as well as individualized and group learning. A lovely, safe and happy school where your children will learn that people who look different are just as smart -- or smart in different ways. This school and the principal, Dr. Diana Howard, are truly wonderful.
