Cotton Creek Elementary School Reviews

We moved from out of state and have attended Cotton Creek for three years and have absolutely NO complaints. My girls are always excited about school - what more could you ask for. Great Principal & Great Teachers!

This school is incredible! All 3 of my children have attended here, and they all LOVE IT! The staff is wonderful, and the principal is exceptional! He truly cares about the kids and is very approachable. There are many extracurricular activities and the PTA plans several really fun activities each year.

This was my kids first year at Cotton Creek. It took them a while to adjust after leaving their old school, but they have done pretty well. Would like to see more one on one time given to the kids on IEP's (individualized education plans) my youngest is on one and is still struggling with her learning. I do like the principal, he is great with the kids and parents. My main concern is how many days off a year they have. It is way to many. I know this is more of a district issue than an individual school, but if the kids truly do come first, shouldn't they be in school as often as possible so they can learn. It's a big burden for working parents.

I have had children here for the past seven years and we are very happy. The principal is wonderful with the kids. He is approachable and on the level with parents. Cotton Creek has art, computer, music and P.E. There are art clubs, choir, computer club, and intramural sports available. All of the programs are great and well attended. As for standing out, the P.E. program is amazing for all levels of children. The teacher goes way above and beyond any elem. program I have ever heard of. There is great parent involvement and an active PTA. Lots of fun activities for families as well. The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable. My children have received a high quality education here. The school also prepares children well for their continued education.

Poor phonics program but most of the teachers are nice. I supplement what the school does. Whole language, unfortunately, is still in use.

Our daughter is in second grade there and we have been pleased with both teachers she has had. The principal is very proactive and approachable. The curriculum seems average for a public school with very little variation to suit student strengths and weaknesses. The atmosphere is very bright, colorful, cheerful, and new. The staff are friendly and helpful, although the office staff can be a bit surly at times. The only complaints we have with this school are those that apply to all public schools.

Cotton Creek Elementary School has a gifted program which is very important to me. My child is pre-K and almost reading. I also know that the children get lots of one-on-one time.
