Littleton Academy Reviews

If all you care about is academics this is the school for you. If you care about your child being treated with respect and consideration don't go to this school. There is very little teacher acountability and even less administration acountability, so anything goes! I think it is a shame that such a great idea for a school is being destroyed.

As a parent the parent of 2 children that graduated from Littleton Academy, I could not be happier with their transition to highschool. both of my kids were able to start on the honors track in all subjects. the attention to grammar and writing technique have been especially useful and put my children ahead of their peers in highschool. the Saxon Math program produed a solid foundation with it's attention to mastering concepts and nightly homework. Both Social Studies and Science were challenging. The Spanish program took both of my students to AP Spanish in high School as a Junior. Our experience at Littleton Academy was only positive.

Great academics but the principal and vice principal are inexperienced and treat kids unfairly. They want to control everything and do not listen to parents or students at all.

Excellent -- delivers what it promises!

I ve been an active parent of LASA for 7 years, some teachers are a great asset to the School and discipline is very positive to some kids. Unfortunately, leadership is lacking at this school and the teaching some children receive is uneven. Personal experience with some administrative staff has been extremely unprofessional. Principal is doing very little to weed out those teachers who are not treating children as individual case bringing them down, instead, they waste the precious time of the students they are trained professionally to serve and inspire. Principal is unable to make decisions on a case by case basis, instead she hides behind policies, using the cookie-cutter approach.

We currently have 2 children attending Littleton Academy. Although its education and behavioral standards are above other Schools, the guidance of an inexperienced and unqualified Principal plus and unpleasant Administration undermines the above.

A great fundamentally sound education. Ideal school for average and slightly above average kids, who need repetitive work to hone their skills. Weak at challenging independent thought, and creativity development.

We have two children at Littleton Academy. We are extremely impressed with the core knowledge content and the delivery the staff employs. Littleton Academy expects students to adhere to behavior standards that will suit the children well in society. The standards are not unreasonable, unless discipline is somewhat of a new concept to a child. Many parents choose LA because of it's high academic, behavioral and test standards and then complain when they are upheld.

Littleton Military Academy?? The school is going downhill. Student moral is down. THe administration enforces extreme punitive measures for discipline. All they care about is the test scores and resting on their laurels.

We have had 3 students at LA and must admit that the school is on a downward trend. The school is riding simply on its CSAP accolades, and it shows. The school principal is inexperienced, and unfortunately, her inabilities to adminstrate reflect unfavorably on the academic staff.

I had one child at LA for 8th grade and all I can say is 'Thank God', now a 9th grader in High School he was ready! All advanced classes, and the ability to perform under pressure, and be organized! The regular public school system has failed and this proved it to me. I now have two other children going 7th & 4th graders , at first was a little bit of a shock and it takes a little time for them to make the adjusment but with parental backing and the help from the great teachers and staff they have adjusted to the change! Thank You LA!

We have had all four of our children at Littleton Academy and could not be more satisfied with a school. The school enforces the reasonable rules and the kids all know the standards, both behavioral and academic, that they are being held accountable to. The academic bar is set high, but there is ample help for the kids who are struggling, and they leave the school well ahead of their peers in other schools and very prepared for high school and beyond. Parental involvement and input are encouraged and, more importantly, listened to by the staff and school board. Teachers with whom there are legitimate issues are not retained, and the kids have a safe and warm learning environment. Littleton Academy is a model of what elementary and middle school education can be, and should strive to become.

so far so good a lot of parent involvement, even as a k parent. Really seems like a great place for parents who want to supplement the low colorado school education standards. very organized curriculum and after school opportunities.

This school is a 'school of choice', a choice our family is very happy with. Billed as 'academically rigorous, this school is not for everyone. Students leave this school prepared, and in most cases, above grade level. Look at the test scores! This school has been recognized as a 'school of excellence). Staff and administration are very professional and fair. We have found the administration very responsive to all issues presented. Bullying is not tolerated. Parent involvement (volunteering)is better than any school I have seen and allows the school many 'perks' not obtained due to lack of district funding. New principal is just 'getting her feet wet'. She has big shoes to fill! There are always parents who feel their child is the best and brightest and should be treated as such. They will always find a problem no matter what school their child attends.

Strong discipline supports a rigorous academic program. Core Knowledge, Saxon, Open Court; a great mix.

New Principal is not responsive to parent concerns and seems unwilling to consider 'outside the box' suggestions. She seems to take a combatitive stance rather than explore the concerns and reach a mutually acceptable solution.
