When I began the program, I was somewhat skeptical about how effective the IVs would be. After two weeks of Tamea Sisco's Amino Acid treatments, my life has been a 180. I'm interested in the things that gave me pleasure before my alcohol use increased to such a high level. Last weekend I flew my helicopter for the first time in four months. I stay and watch my kids' baseball practice instead of going to the bar. I was alive (barely), but nothing close to actually living. I finally feel like I am living again."

The DUI and DWAI Education and Therapy programs at Excel Treatment most certainly kept me out of jail! I started the Education classes before I even made my first appearance in court. It about a week after I was arrested for driving with a .17 alcohol level (BAC). It was well above the legal limit. By the time I was sentenced, about four months after the arrest, I had already finished the Education portion of the program and had begun the Therapy. I had also enrolled in random sobriety tests. The Judge and prosecution saw that I was making a concerted effort to avoid ever making same senseless mistake again, and gave me a much lighter sentence than even my attorney expected (NO JAIL). As for the meetings, I actually enjoyed the majority of them. They were laid-back and I never felt threatened or degraded because of my actions. They were both educational and therapeutic, but not in the traditional sense. I felt that after truly understanding how alcohol and other substances effect ones judgment (not only while driving), I felt much more empowered. If you are unfortunate enough to have to go through this process. I strongly recommend the DUI & DWAI program offered at Excel Treatment.

Being through other programs, with no lasting results, I found myself at home high and alone. My thoughts were of checking out to relieve myself of my problems, loneliness and shame. Looking for help I got out the phone book and started calling. After several calls with uncaring responses, I saw an ad for Excel. I called and spoke with Tamea Sisco. She was willing to see me right away. When I arrived Tamea was friendly and caring. Just what I needed. She showed me how addiction works in the brain, told me about the treatment and what it could do for me. When I left it was the best I had felt in as long as I could remember. I hadn't even had a treatment yet. After beginning treatment Excel was the place I could go, people cared. I was comfortable. My safe place! Since this program I have the skills and tools to overcome my substance abuse. Excel gave me the confidence and ability to again be successful.
